The choice of compression ratio when o ring is sealed
1) The formula is:
E = (T / W) * 100% = (W - H / W) * 100%
(T = W-H): T (mm): compression margin W (mm): O-ring diameter H (mm): groove depth T (mm)
2) O-ring seal on the diameter of the compression ratio of different sealing occasions, the compression rate is different, the recommendations are as follows:
General static seal compression ratio: 10-30%;
The compression ratio for low friction is 1.5-6%
High pressure, reciprocating compression rate: 4-16%;
The compression ratio of hydraulic seal is: 10 -20%;
Vacuum seal compression ratio: 40-45%;
The rate of compression at very low temperatures is 70 - 85% (to overcome the volume shrinkage of the rubber at the secondary transition temperature).
